About Greg Nielsen
Greg Nielsen graduated with a degree in Business Management from the University of Utah. From a young age he has followed his father's footsteps as an entrepreneur, trying to make his own way by starting his own businesses. All of them have been on the cutting edge of internet technology and telecommunications, three of which have been sold to major corporations around the world.
Currently Mr. Nielsen sits on the Board of Directors of Velocity Networks. http://www.vel.net Velocity Networks is one of the nation's most successful providers of premium grade Voice over IP, Co-Location and Internet and private networking services with marquee clients like Motorola, NBA, LA Fitness, In-N-Out Burgers, Krispy Kreme and more.
Mr. Nielsen is also currently the Founder, President and CEO of IP Telesis. http://www.iptelesis.com A leading provider of wholesale Voice over IP solutions around the world. IP Telesis serves communities, governments and major phone companies, CLEC's, iLEC's Rural Independent Telcos, regional and local Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and cable companies based in Europe, South America, Asia and the US. Under his direction, Mr. Greg Nielsen designed the network from the ground up and quickly became the backbone for some of the most well known providers in the industry today.
Greg Nielsen is the recipient of many sales and achievement awards, including the Utah Information Technology Association Million Dollar Award. Earned numerous Presidents Club honors and number 1 sales awards while working for companies like XO and Paetec Communications where he held Senior Sales Executive positions.
His past experience includes:
Founding Partner of XILEC Communications, a communications consulting and engineering firm for the Fortune 500 and Private 400.Chairman, Founder and President of Gadgets.com, a global on-line company specializing in extraordinary and unique products for better living, with product distribution in France, Italy, The Netherlands, England, and North America. He later orchestrated the sale of Gadgets.com to a competitor in the U.K. with a net return to shareholders of nearly 90% of their investment over a period of less than three years.
Additionally, Mr. Greg Nielsen has held Senior Sales Executive roles at Oracle and Vice President of Go Strategy, a strategic planning and management consulting firm.
Mr. Greg Nielsen loves spending time with his wife and 3 children in Austin, TX. Other hobbies include history, world religious studies, travel and antique car restoration.
