Gracepoint, a Southern Baptist Ministry based in Berkeley, not only provides an incomparable environment for spiritual growth to is members, but also gives back regularly to its surrounding communities both locally and globally. Through ImpACT, Gracepoint offers weekly enrichment programs and one-on-one tutoring to disadvantaged youth in San Francisco’s Bay Area. By providing these children with positive and stable adult role models, Gracepoint hopes to furnish them with the abilities and confidence to pursue ambitious goals and dreams. Working with ImpACT, Gracepoint creates a nourishing environment in which the potential of these children can be realized.

Extending its reach internationally, Gracepoint also supports thriving summer and winter missionary programs. Driven to spread the redemptive word of God, Gracepoint conducts regular fundraisers to finance its missions to countries all over the world. Gracepoint missionaries have visited a large range of nations, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Taiwan, Thailand, Cambodia, China, Japan, the Honduras, and Mexico. Beyond carrying the Word of God, mission trips allow Gracepoint members to grow closer as a community while serving new communities and appreciating new cultures. Gracepoint also works with organizations such as Youth with a Mission and the International Mission Board to facilitate its missionary efforts.

Although originally created to serve college students, Gracepoint’s intimate congregation now includes children of all ages as well as young professionals, married couples, and single adults. Gracepoint is predominately an Asian-American congregation, but it encourages all ethnicities toward membership and is becoming increasingly multi-ethnic with each passing year. Gracepoint encourages worship through fellowship. To that end, Gracepoint schedules weekly small group meetings to maintain the growing congregation’s friendly and intimate atmosphere.
