About Grace Chen

A frequent lecturer on the topic of comprehensive pain management, Dr. Grace Chen is a specialist in the non-surgical treatment of back, spine, and hip pain at Oregon’s Heath and Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. Trained at the University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Grace Chen has lectured on the topic of Sleep Apnea in Ambulatory Surgery Patients, Comprehensive Pain Management, Acute and Chronic Pain Management, as well as Aprotonin versus Amicar for Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery.

 

Further, Dr. Grace Chen has made important contributions to the book, Avoiding Common Anesthesia Errors, writing on topics such as Hyperkalemia, and Digoxin Toxicity. Additionally, Dr. Grace Chen wrote "Noninvasive diagnostic testing of coronary artery disease in women" for Cardiology in Review. A member of The American Society of Anesthesiology as well as the American Medical Association, Dr. Grace Chen also belongs to the International Spine Interventions Society.

 

Dr. Grace Chen is currently licensed to practice medicine in both Oregon and Washington. Educated at University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Grace Chen received a Bachelor of Arts in 1998, graduating summa cum laude. Dr. Grace Chen took a position in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1999, serving as a Research Intern at the University of California’s National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health. She completed her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Michigan Medical School in June 2003 and soon joined the Joaquin General Hospital in California as a Transitional Resident.

 

Fulfilling her medical anesthesiology residency with OHSU in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine in 2007, Dr. Grace Chen then accepted a position with the department as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Grace Chen currently lives in Portland, Oregon. She enjoys running and kickboxing, as well as dining out with friends.
