Gold-Coast Improvement Commission (GCIC)

Gold-Coast Improvement Commission (GCIC) is a government agency with sole mandate of improving the lives of the citizens of Ghana. It was formed on March 2008. The name Gold-Coast was used for the Commission as it is the Original name of Ghana before the arrival of the Colonial Masters.

 

The genesis of GCIC is largely a response to the demand for grassroot development of the communities in the country. The communities of Ghana have continued to agitate and articulate demands for greater attentions towards the rural area, thus, GCIC operations. Primarily meant to take development in all sector of the economy to the communities, refugees, and less privileged in the country.

 

GCIC operates under the mandate of improving social, economical and environmental conditions in the rural and urban areas, which it acknowledges as horific in it's own reports.To achieve ths mandate, the GCIC board identified the following area of focus: Developing of social and physical Infrastructure technology economical revival and prospoerity Ecologcal/enviromental remediation and stability Human development.
