publications for charities, including annual reviews, newsletters and reports.

• Editor, ngo.media. Established ngo.media as a limited company in 2004, to deliver editorial and
publications to the charity and social enterprise sector. Position includes management of a team of staff
and freelance writers and editors, designers and a web developer, as well as administrative and exhibition
staff. Also includes hands-on commissioning, editing, production management, client liaison, marketing
and product development. Gideon also provides media training to a range of charities and social
enterprises.
• Freelance journalist. Regular freelance journalist, working day-shifts (news and features) for a range of
publications, including Guardian Society, Third Sector magazine, New Start, The Times Educational
Supplement, guardianunlimited, Municipal Journal and Social Enterprise Magazine. Was charities
correspondent, The New Statesman. 2001 – 2004
• Author. Gideon has written two books on the arms trade: The No-Nonsense Guide to the Arms Trade
(currently writing second edition) and Ak-47: A social history.
• Staff journalist, Community Care magazine. Gideon was a staff reporter on the Reed Business
Information trade magazine for a year. 2000-2001
