Gerald Secundy

 

Gerald Secundy - Professional Summary:   Actively involved in several non-profit organizations, Gerald D. Secundy has served in a number of roles involving the environment, civil rights, and economic justice. Gerald Secundy attended Harvard College and Columbia University Law School and earned his J.D. After graduating, Gerald Secundy enlisted with the Peace Corps and worked in Cusco, Peru, where he oversaw a community center that aided troubled youths from 1966 to 1969. Following his return to the United States, Gerald Secundy began practicing law for the United States Department of Justice in the Environment and Natural Resource Division. As an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Gerald Secundy advocated for environmental policies in appellate courts. Moving into the private sector, Gerald Secundy joined Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO), a leading worldwide gas and oil company, as an environmental lawyer. Gerald Secundy undertook additional responsibility and operated as Vice President of External Affairs and Environmental Health and Safety. After 28 years with ARCO, Gerald Secundy ventured into new career opportunities when he formed GDS Consulting, a firm that provided advising services regarding environmental regulations for small businesses. GDS Consulting offered mediation services between business professionals and environmentalists to assure compliance with green, sustainable policies. Gerald D. Secundy has since served on advisory boards for the state and as a director of numerous non-profit associations, and he continues to participate in several charitable societies. Additionally, Gerald Secundy serves on the Board of Trustees for Prescott College as Chairman.
