Patients may schedule appointments at Dr. Perlman's office either after being referred by their general dentist or by calling on their own, as a referral is not required. Patients discuss their comprehensive medical and dental histories with Dr. Perlman as well as undergoing a complete oral examination, including an in-depth analysis of bone support of teeth, loose teeth, oral pathology, occlusion and the temporomandibular joint. Throughout Dr. Perlman’s evaluation, he helps each patient determine the best course of treatment. Patients of Dr. Gary Perlman suffering with periodontal disease, gumabscesses, and other disorders learn about the nature of their disease as well as methods of treatment and preventing recurrence in the future. Dr. Perlman offers nonsurgical gum treatment options including teeth cleaning, deep cleaning, and root planing and scaling. Dr. Gary Perlman can improve a patients appearance and the harmony of their smile by offering cosmetic crown lengthening, grafting to cover exposed roots or minimally invasive dental implant placement if teeth need replacement.
