Founded by Darrell and Stella Harris in 1969, Furnitureland South offers customers a large inventory of quality home furnishings featuring styles from traditional to modern aesthetics. Inducted into the American Furniture Hall of Fame in 2010, the owners of Furnitureland South were recognized for their contribution to the growth of the United States furniture industry and the preservation of American artistic history. Expanding its operations to include over one million square feet of showroom space, Furnitureland South is the single largest furniture store in the world. Recognized for its customer service, Furnitureland South possesses a staff of trained Design Consultants to assist customers in creating project plans and an efficient furniture shopping strategy. Furnitureland South’s website also makes its inventory and services accessible to people unable to make the trip to the store’s North Carolina campus.
Staying current with new trends, Furnitureland South debuted the Eco-Link in June 2009, a 400-foot glass encased walkway that connects the Mart and Showroom buildings, and High Point, North Carolina’s first retail gallery space featuring sustainable home furnishings.
In April 2011, Furnitureland South hosted an event for Paula Deen, Food Network Television personality, who was also promoting her new line of home furnishings at the store. Dedicated to the community, Furnitureland South’s executives and employees participate in a variety of charitable events, such as volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, organizing teams to walk in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF) Walk to Cure Diabetes, fundraising for the local Salvation Army, and making care packages for U.S. military troops stationed overseas.
