A professional experienced in both the public and private sectors, Fred Maas is the founder and CEO of Pacific EcoCompanies LLC, a merchant advisory firm dedicated to sustainable development and investments. Fred Maas’ career includes over 25 years as a real estate executive, developer and investor.
As Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Centre City Development Corporation of San Diego. Fred Maas' lead the retooling and reorganization of the Corporation, which oversaw the redevelopment of Downtown San Diego until 2011. Fred Maas also acted as a Senior Advisor to Mayor Jerry Sanders in his efforts build a new sports and entertainment complex in the downtown area, featuring the San Diego Chargers. In recognition of his accomplishments, he earned the San Diego Downtown Partnership's “Chairman's and Founder's Awards” and the Building Owners and Managers Association's “Public Official of the Year” award.
Maas' charitable endeavors include service as a founding director of two environmental not-for-profit organizations, CleanTech San Diego and Move San Diego, an alternative transportation advocacy group. The American Diabetes Association recognized him as a “Father of the Year” and the American Lung Association designated him a “Clean Air Champion.” A resident of San Diego, Maas is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and an honors graduate of the Syracuse University College of Law.
