About Fred Hoppe

Fred Hoppe is a professional sculptor with years of experience in creating large works with an emphasis on natural and historical subjects. A full-time, self-employed artist, Fred Hoppe has completed a series of depictions of famous figures from history over the course of his 38-year career. These pieces include a life-size sculpture of Andrew Jackson Higgins for the City of Columbus in Nebraska, and a life-size sculpture of Father Flanagan for the City of Bally Mo in Ireland. He was recently chosen from a pool of 430 contenders to create a life-size sculpture of President George H.W. Bush, which will be displayed at the George Bush Presidential Library in College Station, Texas.

Fred Hoppe has lived in the greater Columbus, Nebraska, region since 1975. He completed his initial university training in the 1970s as a student of University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and Nebraska Western in Scottsbluff. He received additional training at the Hart Art Academy in Hampden, Maine, and the Loveland Academy of Arts in Loveland, Colorado.
