Filiz Sahenk, who was born in 1969 in Turkey, is one of the billionaires in the world. She ranks 488 in the World’s billionaires’ list, according to Forbes Magazine, with an estimated fortune of $2 billion. She is the daughter of the business man, Ayhan Sahenk, who founded the famous Dogus Holding business. Dogus Holding is one of the top three largest private-sector conglomerates in Turkey, including the Turkey’s largest bank, Garanti Bank. The turnover of the company is around $6 billion with a work force of 18,000 people.
Filiz Sahenk’s brother, Ferit Sahenk, is a media mogul having 10% of Turkey’s advertising market. He is the chairman of the executive board of the Turkish-U.S. Business council, a Turkish Business group that promotes trade and business relationships between the two countries. He is also a billionaire in his own right. Her cousin, Melis Sahenk, is a famous designer, who won various competitions in Madrid, Spain.

After her father’s death in 2001, Filiz Sahenk shouldered the responsibility of running the family business along with her brother. She takes care of company’s retail partnerships with Italian fashion brands Tod’s and Armani. Sahenk is a law-abiding citizen of Turkey and one of the top hundred tax payers of the country. She is the President of the Ayhan Sahenk foundation, which sponsors a three-day annual international mountain byke event in Turkish Cappadoccia.
Filiz Sahenk – The Other Side
Filiz Sahenk is also the front-runner in bringing the International Myeloma foundation programs to Turkey. It is a non-profit organization featuring research, clinical trials, events, fund raising, and support for Myeloma patients. Myeloma is a type of cancer that develops from cells in the bone marrow called plasma cells.
Sahenk has a passion towards collecting antique objects. She has a large antique collection to preserve the past glory of Turkey.
