Dr. Fathalla Mashali gained his Doctor of Medicine from Cairo University KasrAlAiny School of Medicine in 1979. Demonstrating academic excellence, he graduated with honors in histology, biochemistry, microbiology, anatomy, physiology, and more. Pursuing further professional training, Dr. Fathalla Mashali continued at Kasr El Aini Hospital to serve a surgical internship. He transferred to Zagazig University Hospital in 1980 to start his residency in surgery. In 1988, Dr. Fathalla Mashali passed the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination in Medical Science (FMGEMS). He relocated to the United States shortly after and passed the Federal Licensure Examination (FLEX). In the U.S., Dr. Fathalla Mashali continued his postgraduate training at University of Missouri at Kansas City where he participated in medical internships. Meanwhile, he also completed a six-month internal medicine internship at Truman Medical Center and trained in psychiatry at Western Missouri Health Center for several months. Dr. Fathalla Mashali continued his training at Baptist Medical Center for the rest of the year in family medicine. From 1991 to 1993, he began learning about his area of practice through a residency in anesthesia at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Fathalla Mashali continued his work at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1994, pursuing a fellowship in critical care medicine and anesthesia. Dr. Fathalla Mashali has contributed as a Physician, a pain management specialist, Assistant Professor, Educational Coordinator, Anesthesiologist, and President of various anesthesiology providers. A former Chairman of the Department of Anesthesia at Landmark Medical Center, Dr. Fathalla Mashali continues to work with hospitals and clinics through his anesthesiology service. Additionally, he had served as the Attending Cardiac Anesthesiologist for the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. He also taught as an Assistant Professor at Boston Medical Center for Boston University.
