About Ezra Katzen
I have more than 30 years of business experience as a high-tech executive, lawyer, manager, advisor, corporate finance expert and board member, with over 20 of those years in Israel's emerging high-tech sector.
I have acted as a member of senior management and general counsel for three Israel-based high tech companies and have served for a number of years as a partner in some of Tel Aviv's highest profile high tech law firms.
I have guided technology companies through every phase of development, from startup to mega-exit, advising management on every imaginable type of transaction and guiding them through decision making ranging from company-changing strategic transactions through to routine managerial decisions.
Powermat - Powermat, Ltd. is pioneering the wireless power revolution. The first company to bring wireless power to consumers in a widely available, meaningful way via mainstream retail channels, Powermat is "leading the charge" in helping consumers lose the cords. As the dominant market leader, Powermat's technology is scalable and embeddable, allowing it to be built directly into electronics of all kinds as well as almost any surface to create wireless energy hubs within homes, automobiles, airports, offices and other venues.
UltraShape - UltraShape is a developer of systems that use ultrasound technology to blast away fat cells, noninvasively and painlessly. In the crowded body-contouring and aesthetics industry, it stands alone as the only success story in employing ultrasound technology to remove inches from the waistline effectively and without discomfort or down time. The company's product is currently pending FDA approval but is already marketed in 50 countries. I have served as general counsel and senior manager with responsibility, among other things, for business development and marketing/sales in the Persian Gulf countries.
Shopping.com - I was on the early team at Shopping.com, acting as general counsel and a member of the senior management team. Shopping.com was a pioneer in the field of online shopping search. We brought the company from a startup with $60,000 in the bank in 1998 to a successful IPO in 2004 and sale to Ebay for $700 million in 2005.
Teledata - I was general counsel at Teledata when it made its initial public offering on Nasdaq in 1992.
In addition, I have worked as an outside advisor and board member to many other companies undergoing the process of merger, acquisition, public offering or accelerated corporate growth.
Education - I hold a JurisDoctor Degree from the University of Chicago Law School and a BA with High Honors from the University of Cincinnati, where I was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
