About Erich Mounce
Background
Mr. Erich Mounce began his healthcare career in the Los Angeles Paramedic Training Program in 1981. Over the next 10 years, he served as a licensed Los Angeles County EMT, ending a stay with them as a Senior Field Paramedic and receiving the Los Angeles Community Protectors Award in 1991. During Mounce's last years as a paramedic, he studied at California State University Northridge obtaining his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Health Administration and becoming a successful member of the healthcare world. While attending California State University Northridge, Mounce was a guest lecturer and consultant in the School of Health Administration department.
Career
After completing his education, Mr. Erich Mounce began climbing the corporate ladder at Medco Associates, where he held several positions within the company, from IPA Manager to the Vice President of Corporate Development and Marketing. Over the next three years at Medco Associates, Mounce began leading a startup called Doctors Corporation of Southern California as its CEO. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Erich Mounce handled independent physician associations and maintained clinic operations. Taking his knowledge and experience from his background in healthcare, Erich Mounce would go on to Doctors Community Healthcare Corporation in Scottsdale, Arizona as its Executive Vice President of Administration and M&A and eventually become its Chief Operating Officer.
Career Accomplishments
A career-defining moment occurred when Doctors Community Healthcare Corporation was faced with a notice that its financing source was ceasing all advance funding over the next 15 days precisely as the executives of Doctors Community Healthcare Corporation executed a letter of intent to buy two acute care hospitals that would have brought the company $1 billion in net revenue. Reacting quickly, Mr. Erich Mounce had the company file Chapter 11 within 72 hours and received court approval for financing. Mr. Erich Mounce is now the President and CEO of Envision Hospital Corporation, which is responsible for 2,373 licensed beds within 6 small-care hospital facilities located in large urban regions throughout the United States.
