About Enrique Arevalo

Enrique Arevalo - Professional Summary:

An immigrant to the United States from Mexico at age 15, Enrique Arevalo started his own law firm in Los Angeles in 1984, where he specializes in immigration, citizenship, deportation, and related cases. In 1993, the award-winning attorney relocated the Law Office of Enrique Arevalo to larger quarters in South Pasadena, where he now strategizes with five full-time attorneys and five paralegals. For more than two decades, he also has shared his expertise on an Univision Communications Inc. radio program and currently acts as a legal commentator on immigration on the Telemundo television network. Enrique Arevalo and his firm defend clients in deportation proceedings before various immigration courts, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Board of Immigration Appeals, federal district courts, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The firm’s attorneys represent individuals in rescissions of lawful permanent status, U.S. citizenship issues, political asylum and bond reduction hearings, and waivers from deportation under certain provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Other types of law practiced by Enrique Arevalo include acquisition of immigrant visas and the naturalization process. For co-founding a pro-bono panel that provides legal representation to families confronting deportation, Enrique Arevalo received the U.S. Attorney General’s Meritorious Public Service Award. In other recognition, he garnered the Outstanding Community Service Award from the Central American Resource Center and the Cruz Reynoso Community Service Award from the Mexican American Bar Association. In addition, the Law Office of Enrique Arevalo has received three published decisions from the U.S. Department of Justice Board of Immigration Appeals and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that altered national case law on immigration. After graduating from California State University, Los Angeles, where he earned a BA in History, Enrique Arevalo completed a JD at the Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, California, where he still judges the Moot Court Competition.
