Emblez Longoria - Professional Summary:    Emblez Longoria offers more than 20 years of experience as a security professional. He currently serves as a Senior Security Consultant with Verizon Communications Inc. in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Mr. Longoria, who joined Verizon in 2004, carries out numerous responsibilities in this position. He safeguards company assets such as infrastructure and personnel information and investigates employee misconduct such as theft. Emblez Longoria also handles network tampering and security breaches and completes assessments to pinpoint and improve security weaknesses. Furthermore, he provides residential security services for Verizon’s top executives.

Emblez Longoria also served as a volunteer leader with ASIS International, an organization for security professionals, in Alexandria, Virginia. For six years, starting in 2002, he served in multiple capacities on ASIS International’s Crime & Loss Prevention Council, including as Chairman. His responsibilities included devising workshops, committees and overseeing the development of security guidelines for places of worship. Emblez Longoria also held a position on the Professional Certification Board from 2008 to 2010. He assisted in determining ASIS International policy, shaped content for certification exams, oversaw the certification committee, and established guidelines for filing continuing professional educations credits.

In 1988, the same year he completed his Criminal Justice Certification from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, Emblez Longoria enlisted in the New Jersey State Police. He retired as Senior Trooper. Mr. Longoria graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2003 from Rosemont College in Rosemont, Pennsylvania, where he studies management in pursuit of a Master’s degree. He maintains affiliations with several professional organizations, including ASIS International, the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers, and the Executive Protection Institute as well as its Nine Lives Associates. As a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, Emblez Longoria completed a 7-day, 100-plus-hour training program and became a certified Personal Protection Specialists.

Today, Emblez Longoria is a Certified Protection Professional and a Physical Security Professional via ASIS International, a Certified Security Trainer through the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers, and a Personal Protection Specialist with the Executive Protection Institute.
