Elizabeth Rho-Ng - Professional Summary:    

 

A shareholder in the law firm of Dannis Woliver Kelley (formerly known as Miller Brown & Dannis) in San Francisco, Elizabeth Rho-Ng serves as the leader of the Special Education and Students practice group. In this capacity, she advises local educational agencies on the many issues related to students, including special education, and governance issues. In addition to advising educators and representing local educational agencies in legal matters, Ms. Rho-Ng routinely trains a wide range of educators, administrators, school board members, and other California educational professionals on legal compliance issues, case developments, and best practices for their schools. She has successfully litigated several administrative cases on behalf of school districts. She supervises attorneys in the Special Education and Students practice group and represents school districts in administrative and legal proceedings. A respected lawyer and expert in special education and student issues, Elizabeth Rho-Ng has also contributed to a number of legal publications, including SpecialEdConnection.com, a division of LRP Publications. Elizabeth Rho-Ng earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin in 1993. After completing her undergraduate work, including a senior thesis in the Plan II Honors Program, Ms. Rho-Ng worked as a legal assistant in a San Francisco estate planning law firm. Subsequently, she worked as a teacher of English as a Second Language for English Language Services, International, in Pusan, Korea. She then returned to the United States, where she attended Northeastern University School of Law and earned her Juris Doctor (JD) in 2000. While studying law at Northeastern, Elizabeth Rho-Ng held Cooperative Legal Education Program clinical jobs with the U.S. Attorneys’ Office for the Northern District of California; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit Staff Attorneys' Office; Kotin, Crabtree & Strong, LLP; and Adkins & Kelston, P.C. With her extensive and successful educational background, Elizabeth Rho-Ng began her legal career as a Staff Attorney assigned to the Criminal Division at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco. After a year, Elizabeth Rho-Ng accepted her current position at Dannis Woliver Kelley.
