Elisabeth Anumu

Professional Summary:  

 

With an M.D. in Family Medicine and set to complete her residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford in June of 2011, Elisabeth Anumu has a broad background of training in clinical medicine with a special emphasis on women’s health and the care of children and adolescents.

 

A native of Cameroon, Elisabeth Anumu did much of her early medical training at the University of Ulm in Germany. Over the course of eight years, she received her undergraduate degree and initial studies in medicine there. After completing her work at the University of Ulm, Elisabeth Anumu accepted a yearlong internship in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthesiology and Emergency Medicine at the Klinik am Eichert in Goppingen, Germany.

 

In order to pursue further medical studies and ultimately to practice in the United States, Elisabeth Anumu sought and earned certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in 2006. This enabled her to move to Georgia where she served for more than two years as an extern and volunteer for the Magnolia Medical Clinic, which has three offices in Norcross and Alpharetta, in the greater Atlanta area.

 

Elisabeth Anumu entered the residency program at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford in the summer of 2008. Since then, in pursuit of her particular interest in the treatment of children and adolescents, women’s health, outpatient adult medicine, and teaching, she has acquired family medicine experience in both inpatient and outpatient arenas. As part of her medical studies, Elisabeth Anumu elected rotations in women’s health at the Crusader Community Health in Rockford and in orthopedic medicine at Rockford Spine Center, which specializes in adult and pediatric spinal surgery.
