Elemer Boreczky - Professional Experience:  I have guided tours for Rick Steve's Europe Through the Back Doors for several years. I have also introduced American students and German Marshall Fund visitors to Hungarian culture. As a university teacher I have taught cultural studies - various aspects of English-speaking , European and Hungarian culture. Before my second life as an academic, I was a social worker/peripathetic family therapist/self-made spiritual councellor. I have a professional taxi driver's license, and I also worked as a language teacher, sailing instructor and a skipper.  

 

Elemer Boreczky - Education:    PhD from University of Glamorgan, Wales (2001); MA course in British Studies, Warwick University, GB (1992); re-trained as a teacher of English at Aston University, Birmingham (1990); International Summer School at Exeter College, Oxford (1971); MA in English and Hungarian (1969).

 

Elemer Boreczky - Interests:  My wide range of interest is represented  by the courses I taught; from children's literature, to travelogues, including medieval history, 20th century literature, and popular culture. I love classical music and jazz, I sail my little boat on Lake Balaton, and I take long walks in the hills with friends and my grandchildren.
