About Edward Dovner
Entrepreneur and inventor Eddie Dovner began his career as a cabana boy at The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa (formerly The Diplomat Hotel) in Miami, Florida, moving to the city after spending most of his life on a farm south of Boston, Massachusetts. Subsequently, Eddie Dovner entered the sales force by joining Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife). As a Sales Agent, Eddie Dovner received numerous honors and accolades. Three years later, Eddie Dovner left MetLife to start his own business, an honor snack company that provided candy and chips to nearby businesses. Eddie Dovner sold the profitable company in the 1980s.
Eddie Dovner chose his next venture after studying trends in commodities and discovering gourmet coffee roasting as a virtually recession-proof enterprise. At Northeast Gourmet Coffee, Eddie Dovner offered specialty beans to consumers throughout New England, one of the few companies doing so in the marketplace. After Eddie Dovner turned Northeast Gourmet Coffee into a multimillion-dollar business, he found a buyer for it, wishing to move on to other projects. Two of Eddie Dovner’s newest business ventures will launch later in 2011. Eddie Dovner plans to sell a line of compact exercise equipment, including an abs machine, through infomercials.
This gear will enable customers to bring with them a traveling gym that provides a complete workout while remaining small enough to fit in a suitcase. Bike in the Air, the second product and a patented invention by Eddie Dovner, will serve as a revolutionary bicycle storage unit. Eddie Dovner contributes to a number of charities, including Ruth Rales Jewish Family Service, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, and Catholic Charities USA. An outdoors enthusiast, Eddie Dovner enjoys golfing, horseback riding, skeet shooting, and traveling all over the world. Eddie Dovner shares interests with his sons by skiing and skydiving with them and by coaching their sports teams.
