Ed Kang

 

Ed Kang - Professional Summary:    

Pastor Ed Kang began a career in law before dedicating his life to shepherding a community of fellow believers. Ed Kang's wife, Kelly Kang, also decided to leave her work as a software developer to pursue ministry, dedicating her talents to the service of Christ.

 

In 1981, Berkland Baptist Church was founded in Oakland, California. Berkland later became Gracepoint; Pastor Ed Kang and his congregation changed the name to Gracepoint because so many of them had first come to grace through the church. Gracepoint began as a college ministry at UC Berkeley, and the campus has remained prominent in the life of the Gracepoint community. Pastor Ed Kang graduated from UC Berkeley with his Bachelor's degree, then received his Juris Doctor from UC Berkeley's Boalt School of Law.

 

Each Sunday, Pastor Ed Kang delivers a sermon at Gracepoint - Berkeley, focusing on contemporary subjects relevant to the spiritual lives of his congregation. Ed Kang's sermons are available online at the Gracepoint church website (www.gracepointonline.org/resources/resources/podcast). Pastor Ed Kang and Kelly Kang also write blogs, reaching out to Gracepoint church members with personal stories and musings on spiritual topics (www.edkang.wordpress.com; www.kellykangblog.wordpress.com). Together, Pastor Ed Kang and Kelly Kang remain dedicated to serving Gracepoint and the surrounding community.

 

In his free time, Pastor Ed Kang takes pleasure in connecting with fellow believers through conversation and humorous stories. Pastor Ed Kang also enjoys hiking, playing basketball, and spending time with his family. Pastor Ed Kang and Kelly Kang have been married for more than two decades and have three children, one of whom attends UC Berkeley.
