Apple has again upgraded their prominent media player of IPODs, the 5th gen nano. This particular version of the IPOD NANO is conspicuously a step higher from its’ very last model, the 4th gen IPOD NANO. The new 5th gen NANO is filled with new features that include the integration of the video cam and many others that we’ll see in this article.

This generation of IPOD NANO retains the same 8 GB and 16 GB memory, and same body dimension. But the improvement in its screen takes a bounce from the 2 inch size to 2.2 inches. This jump is just minimal but is quite important for movie viewers of the NANO. Screen contrast is noticeably sharper and brighter than its predecessor. With this upgrade, comes with a downgrade; the click wheel is considerably smaller than the 4th gen NANO. But it should not be a problem if you got along well with its predecessor.

The 5th gen NANO has an anodized finish that makes it even more brighter in color, but will show scratches when subjected to falling onto hardwood or concrete floor or collision with any sharp objects. It is also slightly smaller and lighter than the 4th gen NANO. The colossal selling target of this 5th gen NANO is its video camera. It has a remarkably high-end camera that has additional filters like tunnel vision, security cam, film grain and much more with just the push in the center button. The only limitation is the capacity itself.

Apple has come down to integrating the FM radio with the 5th gen NANO that gets fine reception whether you use a third party ear-buds or headphone. IT even has a “Live Pause” system that pause a radio program for about 15 minutes then later catch up from the cached content.

Still the IPOD NANO is known as the best seller among the media players that coincides. And with the rev up from its predecessor, makes this 5th gen NANO the full-featured, slick and easy to use portable media player of all time.
