About Dwaraka Teja

Dwaraka Teja is a 21-year-old cricket player from Kakinada, India. He made his debut in India’s domestic circuit in 2005-06 and since then he has played for Hyderabad, the India Under-19 team and the Deccan Chargers in the Indian Premier League.

After becoming a regular fixture in the Indian Under-19 team, Dwaraka Teja embarked on his first-class career for Hyderabad’s senior team. In his second Ranji Trophy season for Hyderabad, Tejas topped the run-getters’list with 653 runs at an average of nearly 60. In 23 matches across the First-Class and List A levels, Teja has scored over 1,300 runs, including two centuries and nine half-centuries. Dwaraka Teja's highest First-Class score was an unbeaten knock of 133 runs.

Teja's impressive performances for Hyderabad pushed for his selection to the Deccan Chargers in the inaugural Indian Premier League, a Twenty20 league started by the Indian cricket board that consists of the world’s top players in teams from eight different Indian cities. In his T20 career, Teja has scored a total of 152 runs in 8 matches, with a highest score of 40. He has also picked up the solitary wicket with his leg break spinners. Dwaraka Teja's steady and consistent performances were also rewarded with his inclusion in a fringe Indian squad that toured Israel recently.
