About Me

Dr. Milton Marcilio has treated patients in Canada for over 50 years. After earning his medical degree at the Faculdade de Medicina de la Universidade da Bahia in Brazil, Dr. Milton Marcilio moved to Canada, serving three residencies at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Dr. Marcilio spent much of the 1960s in public service, working at institutions such as the Child and Family Clinic, a service provided to the Social Welfare Court of Montreal by Douglas Hospital. In this role, he served as a psychiatrist in charge, leading a team of other mental health professionals to provide care. Currently in private practice, Dr. Marcilio has published several papers in peer-reviewed publications, including one titled “Multiple Family Therapy,” which he presented at a conference of the World Psychiatric Association in 2011, and “Children and Judges,” for the Department of Criminology at the University of Ottawa.

Outside of work, Dr. Marcilio enjoys playing bridge, rearing tropical fish, and watching foreign films. An experienced traveler, he has visited over 100 countries.
