Gail Weingast didn’t always want to be a doctor. She attended Jackson College, Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. However, not long after, she attended the Boston University School of Medicine, where she officially became Gail Weingast MD in 1976. After medical school, Dr. Weingast did a pediatrics internship and residency in pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in the field of ultrasound.
Dr. Gail Weingast worked at other hospitals in Colorado and New York, until she settled into her current position as a highly regarded radiology specialist at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut, where she is the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. She has now been there for more than 20 years and she has been able to guide her department into its current position as a premiere medical facility with her more than four decades of knowledge and experience.
