About Drew Noyes

Drew Noyes was the founding Chairman of the Carolina Beach, NC, Downtown Redevelopment Committee appointed by the mayor and totally redeveloped a blithe area at the Boardwalk and marina into the best property in Coastal North Carolina. Drew Noyes is a real estate investment expert and is a licensed Real Estate Broker licensed in North Carolina and a member of the US National Board of Realtors and is widely regarded as a strong influence of the success of Pleasure Island, North Carolina.

Drew Walter Noyes was born in Colebrook, New Hampshire on February 3, 1956 to US Navy Lt. Commander Irving "Chet" Noyes and author Kathryn Noyes.

Drew and his five older brothers and sisters moved from north to south when they were young. Their mother and father were New England academics who moved to North Carolina to work on major educational breakthroughs occurring in America's first brain trust, the Research Triangle, similar to today's Silicone Valley.

He had summered in Carolina Beach on an island between Myrtle Beach, SC and the port city Wilmington, NC with his family as a boy in the family cottage. In 1968, at the age of 12 he trademarked with the Secretary of State of North Carolina's office the name "Pleasure Island" which included Carolina Beach, Wilmington Beach, Kure Beach and the Civil War historical site Fort Fisher. He thought the towns were too closed to cooperating with each other and the island would be stronger if under one name, yet keep their town identities. He was right.

When he grew up he went back to see his youthful vision come true. After a lucrative career in Newport Beach California as a stock and commodities trader, in 1992 Drew Noyes returned to the east coast beach resort to help the ailing economy of his childhood summer home beach. He dubbed the island Pleasure Island which he owned the use of the name and with the support of the mayors of Kure and Carolina beach and the Wilmington Convention Association and the Wilmington Realtor's association members the unified marketing concept from the island really paid off with property values up tenfold within just eight years.

During his tenure as leader of the Downtown Redevelopment Committee he and a group of his investors acquired all of the condemned properties on the oceanfront of one end of the Boardwalk. Drew Noyes spearheaded the redevelopment of the historic Boardwalk by initiating redevelopment of the entire south end where the first major hotel, a Marriot is now built and many upscale businesses, coffee shops, gift shops and bars. He acquired additional adjacent properties to create two municipal parking lots for the town.

Seeing that yachting and power boating enthusiasts would be the best group in addition to fishermen to attract visitors to the Intracoastal Waterway island, in the Atlantic, Drew Noyes also redeveloped the Snow's Cut Marina and designed and had built the Harbor Point Marina. The Waterfronte Condominiums and 140 Harbor Point townhouse developments there are the most expensive properties on all of Pleasure Island.

Genius and author Buckminster Fuller, civil rights activist Martin Luther King, CEO of B. Grimm Group of Companies, Harald Link, CEO of Minor Group William Heinecke, Pattaya Mayor Ittipol Khunplume, the first Thailand Minister of Tourism and Sports Sonthaya Khunplume and Chairman of the Chonburi Provincial Council Wittaya Khunplume are among the many people Drew Noyes has met and admires.

Drew Noyes has worked to develop Property Management and Development Co., Ltd. with other leading Thai investors in the booming resort city of Pattaya.
