A veteran psychiatric professional, Dr. Elliot Gruen has practiced as a general psychiatrist with St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, Maine, for over two decades. During his time with St. Mary’s, he has served in a variety of capacities with the substance abuse unit, inpatient adult unit, and adolescent unit. At present, Dr. Elliot Gruen puts his clinical expertise to work with the outpatient department at one of St. Mary’s clinics off-campus. In addition, he extends his consulting services to several other medical facilities and professionals.
Prior to joining St. Mary’s Hospital, Dr. Elliot Gruen worked as an aide with Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, focusing on such areas as behavioral training and group therapy. Qualified to practice psychiatry, he prepared for his career at several institutions, including the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, Pace University, and the University of Massachusetts.
In addition to fulfilling his professional responsibilities, Dr. Gruen upholds a range of hobbies and interests including fly fishing as well as salt and fresh water fishing. In addition, he plays the banjo and has performed live on several occasions.
