Dr David Kamelhar - Professional Summary:     Dr. David Kamelhar serves as an Associate Attending Physician at the NYU Langone Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Kamelhar also teaches students as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine.

Prior to his professional pursuits, Dr. David Kamelhar graduated magna cum laude from Yeshiva University with a Bachelor's Degree in Pre-Medical Sciences in 1970. He subsequently graduated from the New York University (NYU) School of Medicine four years later. After completing his internship and residency, Dr. David Kamelhar completed a clinical fellowship in pulmonary medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center. He received his New York medical license in 1975, then additional certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1977 and 1980.

Dr. Kamelhar’s clinical interests involve different aspects of the field of pulmonary medicine field, including cough, asbestos exposure, respiratory disease related to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, bronchiectasis, mycobacterial infection, and asthma management techniques. In several of these areas, Dr. Kamelhar has participated in research studies as either a principal or co-investigator. His written work contains some of the results obtained in these studies, in addition to case studies.

Widely honored, Dr. David Kamelhar has been recognized as one of the Best Doctors in the New York Metro Area by New York Magazine and Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. He has also earned recognition as a Super Doctor from The New York Times Magazine. In addition, he has been named one of the Best Doctors in America by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. in every year since 2005. Actively involved in his profession, he serves as a fellow of both the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Kamelhar is also a member of the the American Thoracic Society.
