Since graduating with a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois in 1988, Dr. Thomas Maibenco has had two decades of experience treating a wide variety of ailments and injuries in the United States and Angola. From 2008 to 2010, Dr. Maibenco served as a Physician in the medical clinic at the Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center in Edinburgh, Indiana, where he helped provide medical care to members of Indiana’s National Guard as they mobilized for overseas duty and upon their to the United States. Before joining the medical staff at Camp Atterbury, Dr. Thomas Maibenco served at medical practices in O’Fallon and Harrisburg, Illinois. He also served in private practices evaluating automobile, motorcycle, and workplace injuries in Detroit, Michigan, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. In total, Dr. Maibenco has logged 10,000 hours in family medicine and emergency care and has treated ailments ranging from hypertension to asthma and diabetes.
From 2001 to 2003, Dr. Thomas Maibenco was a Physician in an HIV pilot program in Namibe, Angola. While in Angola, Dr. Maibenco treated HIV and tuberculosis patients and provided education about these diseases. He has also served as a faculty member at Baker College in Mount Clemens, Michigan, and Eastern University in Albuquerque. At these institutions, Dr. Thomas Maibenco advised undergraduate students and taught classes on anatomy, physiology, cardiology, endocrinology, and dermatology. Dr. Maibenco is an active member of the American Medical Association.
