Dr. Roxana Diba - Professional Summary:
Dr. Roxana Diba currently serves as a Staff Physician for PFC Associates, LLC, known as the D.C. Police & Fire Clinic, in Washington, D.C. In this capacity, she provides on-site comprehensive occupational medical services to members of Washington, D.C.’s fire and police departments in the event they experience an injury. In addition to the delivery of high quality medical care, Dr. Roxana Diba supervises medical assistants, residents, mid-level providers, and new doctors. In addition, she frequently interacts with police and fire chiefs, lawyers, and council members regarding the care of her patients and their status for duty. As an expert witness, Dr. Roxana Diba regularly testifies at the DC Police and Fire Retirement Board. Dr. Roxana Diba believes in the importance of keeping current on national guidelines and maintains sufficient Continuing Medical Education (EME) units for her board certification maintenance. As a certified Medical Review Officer, Dr. Roxana Diba holds a special certificate to verify positive urine drug tests. Dr. Roxana Diba attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 1996. At UCLA, she received her Master of Science in Physiological Science in 1998, and then moved to Galveston, Texas, where she matriculated at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) and received her Doctor of Medicine in 2002. Dr. Roxana Diba subsequently completed an internship in internal medicine at the prestigious California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, California. Following her residency, she spent a year conducting ocular oncology research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and finished her residency in family medicine at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C where she was voted best resident teacher by the Society of Teachers in Family Medicine. A dedicated volunteer since high school, Dr. Roxana Diba mentored minority students in all stages of her career from medical school until present in an inner city emergency room setting. She volunteers her sports medicine services by conductiong free high school physicals for inner city high school students in Washington D.C. Today, Dr. Roxana Diba still volunteers to teach Georgetown University medical students and Washington Hospital Center residents.
