A leading researcher and urologic cancer specialist, Dr. Ron Israeli has received several national awards. Dr. Israeli holds the patent to a prostate-specific membrane antigen and its uses, a significant discovery that has improved prostate cancer detection. An active researcher, Dr. Israeli participates as principal investigator in clinical trials and grants. To date, he has published over 75 papers and abstracts on prostate cancer, interferon genes, and cancer detection methods.

 

Dr. Ron Israeli holds membership in the American Medical Association, American Association for Cancer Research, American College of Surgeons, and Society of Urologic Oncology. He also belongs to the Medical Society of the State of New York, American Urological Association, and Richmond County Medical Society. Dr. Israeli has previously served on the Staten Island University Hospital Surgical Executive Committee and the Surgery QA Committee. In addition to his contributions to numerous articles and papers, he functions as an editorial reviewer for the publications Journal of Urology, European Urology, and Urology. Balancing his medical practice and research, Dr. Israeli often advises pharmaceutical manufacturers and has consulted for Amgen, Inc., Novartis Corp., Bayer AG, Dendreon Corp., Sanofi-Aventis, and others.

 

Dr. Ron Israeli attended The John Hopkins University, where he earned his B.A. in Biology, and received his Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. When not working, Dr. Ron Israeli enjoys skiing, fishing, and playing tennis.
