About Dr. Robert DuWors

A neuropsychologist focused on clinical treatment and research, Dr. Robert DuWors serves as Executive Director of Mashpee Mental Health Center, which maintains locations throughout Cape Cod and Massachusetts. Dr. DuWors specializes in mental health issues affecting violent offenders, early-release prison inmates, and the children of adults with bipolar disorder and/or schizophrenia. He also conducts research on HIV-related mental health problems. Dr. Robert DuWors’ research at Mashpee Mental Health Center ranges from data gathering to the development of treatment programs and the creation of cognitive rehabilitation software. Dr. DuWors has evaluated the role of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) on substance abuse relapse, and he assesses how AIDS medications affect cognitive function. Until recently, Dr. DuWors conducted his research secondarily to his clinical work at the Center. His appointment as a Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School, however, will provide him with added resources for the pursuit of research in these areas of focus. Aside from his clinical and research work, Dr. Robert DuWors serves as a consultant with a number of organizations. He assists the Children of God Relief Institute-Nyumbani in Nairobi, Kenya, as well as approximately 2,000 other children in the area who receive highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). In the United States, Dr. DuWors provides forensic neuropsychology consulting services for the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth & Families. He has also fulfilled similar duties with the equivalent department in Massachusetts, as well as for the Barnstable County and Wareham, Massachusetts, District Courts. Dr. Robert DuWors possesses a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology, a Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology, a Master of Social Work, a Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Dr. DuWors has completed advanced postdoctoral residencies in neuropsychology, psychoanalysis, neurological assessment, and neurology.
