Dr. Richard Karrel

Professional Summary:   

 

Dr. Richard Karrel received his BS in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago before continuing on to Northwestern University for his MD. As a full-time student, Dr. Karrel regularly participated in triathlons and became a national champion in swimming. After graduating from Northwestern, Dr. Richard Karrel commenced his residency training in emergency medicine at the University of Chicago, earning the position of Chief Resident in the hospital's Department of Emergency Medicine.

 

After Richard Karrel completed his residency, he created drug treatment center Rush Chemical Dependency, an affiliate of Chicago-based Rush Medical College, and served as the organization’s Medical Director.

 

Since 2006, Dr. Richard Karrel has utilized his expertise in the position of Medical Director and CEO with the Louisville, Kentucky-based Metro Medical Associates, which serves injured accident victims. Dr. Richard Karrel’s all-encompassing responsibilities include operational oversight, marketing, medical evaluations, pain management, and treatment plan coordination.

 

Dr. Richard Karrel is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and the Chicago Medical Society. Dr. Richard Karrel has researched and published five studies and presented at numerous conferences and assemblies. In his free time, Dr. Karrel enjoys reading and writing books, recently finishing a novel entitled Dial 911.
