About Dr. Okey Okoli
After completing his undergraduate degree in Nigeria, Dr. Okey Okoli relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue further professional education and training in medicine. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and earned his MRCOG.( Member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. U K ) Dr. Okey Okoli treated UK patients for four years before moving to the United States in 1997. After arriving in the U.S., Dr. Okey Okoli served another residency with the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York.
While completing his residency in New York, Dr. Okey Okoli earned recognition for his research paper that he later presented at the annual American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology meeting in Los Angeles, in 2002. The paper was entitled “Correlation of oligo hydraminos with markers of utero placental insufficiency,” and was published as a supplement in the Obstetrics & Gynecology journal. Additionally, Dr. Okey Okoli earned the honor of best resident in laparoscopic surgery when he served as the Chief Resident during the final year of his time at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center.
After moving to Texas, Dr. Okey Okoli joined a group practice in 2001. Located at College Station, Dr. Okey Okoli joined Brazos Medical group and practiced general obstetrics and gynecology. There, he developed expertise in high-risk obstetrics and pelvic surgery. In addition to attending to patients, Dr. Okey Okoli functioned as a preceptor to Texas A&M University medical students. Dr. Okey Okoli contributed to an upcoming generation of physicians and imparted knowledge he attained through his professional experience.
