Dr. Michael Rose's - Professional Summary:
Dr. Michael Rose laid the foundations for his successful career in plastic surgery as a biology and chemistry major at Skidmore College. During his time with the institution, Dr. Rose earned numerous awards, including the CRC Press Freshman Chemistry Award for an outstanding freshman chemistry student, the Charlotte W. Fahey Prize for an exceptional senior chemistry student, and the Periclean Scholar Award for an extraordinary senior thesis. He also won the BFGoodrich-Waldo Semon Undergraduate Research Award for best original chemistry research by an undergraduate. Receiving recognition for all-college honors as well as departmental honors, Dr. Rose graduated in 1990.
Continuing his track record of academic excellence, Dr. Michael Rose followed his undergraduate studies with graduate work at the New York University School of Medicine. For a paper presented at the the1993 Society for Academic Emergency Medicine meeting, he received the Best Medical Student Presentation award. Dr. Rose graduated from the NYU School of Medicine with his M.D. in 1994.
From 1994 to 1999, Dr. Michael Rose pursued a residency in General Surgery at New York University Medical Center and served as a Teaching Assistant in Surgery at the NYU School of Medicine. From 1999 to 2000, he held the positions of Chief Resident and Executive Chief Resident at NYU Medical Center and taught students at the NYU School of Medicine as a Clinical Instructor. For outstanding achievements in surgery instruction, Dr. Rose received the Theodore Barnett Memorial Teaching Award in 2000.
To complete his medical training in plastic surgery, Dr. Michael Rose served as a Fellow in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, from 2000 to 2002. During that time, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery (recertified in 2010). He also later received board certification from The American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc.
Following the successful completion of his post-doctoral specialization instruction, Dr. Michael Rose began working as a private practitioner at the Shrewsbury, New Jersey-based The Plastic Surgery Center. At this clinic, Dr. Rose regularly performs cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries, including breast augmentations, body contouring procedures, and face lifts, among many others.
