With more than two decades of experience as a physician, Dr. Gregg Lucksinger has concentrated on areas such as patient care, technology, and pharmaceutical research. Since 2009, he has served as Medical Director at Tekton Research, Inc., where he supervises clinical drug trials. In his capacity at Tekton, Dr. Lucksinger utilizes a number of therapies, including stem cell, anticoagulant, analgesic, and rheumatologic agents. At Tekton, Dr. Lucksinger has been involved in 40 trials of vaccines, antivirals, and anticoagulants for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, chronic pain, vasomotor instability, and lupus.
Besides his work at Tekton, Dr. Lucksinger also serves as the co-owner and Chief Medical Officer at Trovare, Inc., a software and pharmaceutical research company. Trovare aims to create comprehensive electronic data collection software to improve the efficiency of human drug trials.
Actively involved in his profession, Dr. Gregg Lucksinger also pursues knowledge of alternative health modalities. He is especially interested in the practices of tai chi, Pilates, and yoga, as well as therapeutic treatments such as acupuncture and massage. Dr. Lucksinger helped to organize a practitioners’ discussion group to share information about these and other routes to health and wellness. Dr. Lucksinger has also been involved with charitable endeavors in his hometown of Austin and abroad in Mexico, where he has donated his time to volunteer clinics. Besides his charitable projects, he has also found time to contribute to various publications. He recently wrote the forward to the book Recovery from Panic Disorder, which was written by his friend Eileen McPhillips Portner. Additionally, he served as a speaker and panelist at the 2009 SxSW Interactive Conference, where the effects of information technology on health care were discussed.
