About Dr. Gary Hitzig
Dr. Gary Hitzig’s interest in hair transplantation began when he was a surgical resident at New York’s Cornell Medical Center. After investigating various ineffective hair restoration methods and receiving one failed surgery, Dr. Gary Hitzig underwent a procedure that opened his eyes to the potential of hair transplantation surgery.
While still a resident, Dr. Gary Hitzig moved into a second role as an associate attending in cosmetic surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. Dr. Gary Hitzig undertook the training of plastic surgery residents, demonstrating what would become a lifelong commitment to ending the frustrations and embarrassment of hair loss.
Since entering cosmetic surgery, Dr. Gary Hitzig has performed over 30,000 procedures. Though he now works with patients in an advisory capacity, Dr. Gary Hitzig remains one of the most experienced doctors in his field and prides himself on the fact that all procedures at his clinic, New York Hair Loss, are performed by expert, board-certified plastic, reconstructive, and facial plastic surgeons.
The author of articles in Dermatologic Surgery and the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Gary Hitzig has made significant contributions to his discipline over the last three and a half decades. Dr. Gary Hitzig has also taught dermatology residents at New York Hospital. Dr. Gary Hitzig is a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery and has served as Medical Advisor to the Board of Directors of the National Hair Loss Council.
