Over the course of his career, Dr. Darian C. Jones has dedicated his efforts to mitigating the achievement and opportunity gaps faced by minority students. While serving as principal with the New Schools at Carver, in Atlanta, he significantly improved graduation rates at a school populated almost entirely by African-American students, and, in the fall of 2009, the school saw 95 percent of graduates enrolled in college. Dr. Darian Jones' other achievements while with the New Schools at Carver include securing grants of more than $1.5 million and generating an additional $160,000 from community donations.
At present, Dr. Darian C. Jones leads the educational consultancy Kole Kartel, LLC, and is undertaking a Tennessee Charter School Incubator fellowship. He has also sat on the Board of Directors for North Carolina Outward Bound since 2012, and he teaches educational and diversity leadership as an adjunct professor at Georgia State University. Dr. Darian Jones completed his own education at Tulane University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Aside from his professional obligations, he is working toward an MBA and a PhD in philosophy at the University of South Carolina.
