About Dr. Adrian Cohen

No professional has blended medicine and popular media as well as Dr. Adrian Cohen, the founder of medical response and risk management company Immediate Assistants. Dr. Adrian Cohen studied medicine at the University of New South Wales in Australia. During his undergraduate years, he participated in a diverse array of medical training. Dr. Adrian Cohen excelled in his studies, graduating in 1983 with first-class honours in medicine. During his post-graduate training, Dr. Adrian Cohen focused on trauma and emergency medicine, as well as orthopedics.


In 1987, Dr. Adrian Cohen joined the fast-paced rescue industry as Chief Medical Officer of Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. Accruing more than 1000 hours of flying time, Dr. Adrian Cohen treated hundreds of trauma cases. Dr. Adrian Cohen quickly became the public face of Westpac Rescue Helicopter Services, appearing in many television and radio commercials.


Beginning in 1990, Dr. Adrian Cohen made regular appearances on the FX Channel Breakfast Show and Lifestyle Channel's "Australian Living" segments. Dr. Adrian Cohen has also participated in other media in the form of radio appearances, weekly contributions to Channel Nine's Midday Show, and a variety of published writings, including "Necksafe: the Acute Management of Spinal Injuries."


Dr. Adrian Cohen also founded Immediate Assistants, a risk management company that provides medical assistance to public and private entities worldwide. Over the years, the client base of Dr. Adrian Cohen and Immediate Assistants has grown to include makers of the popular CBS reality series Survivor, Formula One Administration Ltd., the Association of Surfing Professionals, and creators of hit films such as Mission Impossible II.
