Since graduating from Azusa Pacific University with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion in June 1985, Douglas Loisel has established himself as a leading charitable figure in Southern California. Currently residing in Arcadia, Douglas Loisel serves as Principal of the non-profit consultancy Loisel Consulting Services. Since starting the firm in 2008, he has held responsibility for all services offered by the company, including help with evaluations, training, technical assistance, and grant writing.
Prior to his current position with Loisel Consulting, Douglas Loisel worked as Executive Director for three locations of The Salvation Army in Los Angeles County. Along with the development department, he was responsible for securing funding for special projects and programs. He worked with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and government agencies to cultivate viable sponsors. In all, Douglas Loisel oversaw the operation of 12 distinct social service programs; for each, he supervised all finances, fundraising, human resources, and facilities operations.
In addition to his B.A. in Religion, Douglas Loisel holds three graduate-level degrees. After completing his undergraduate program, he began working on his M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy, which he received from Azusa Pacific in 1988. Next, he earned his M.S. in Educational Administration from California State University, Fullerton in 1993 before returning to Azusa Pacific University in 1995. Over the next five years, he studied for his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology; during this time, he also received the school’s Diversity and Social Justice Award.
An active member of his community, Douglas Loisel belongs to the First Church of the Nazarene and is affiliated with The American National Red Cross and the Homeless United for Friendship and Freedom. In his leisure time, he can be found reading in his Arcadia, California, home or bicycling through the surrounding area.
