Software sales engineer Douglas Gudorf has lived and worked most of his life in Ohio. He attended college at Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton, and worked for companies in Cincinnati and the Cincinnati suburb of Milford. His employers have had national profiles, however, and as a salesman of product lifecycle management (PLM) software solutions, Douglas Gudorf has consistently outperformed his sales colleagues across the U.S.
Douglas Gudorf currently lives in Dayton and sells and demonstrates software for VMH International, LLC, of St. Louis, a reseller of PLM software to corporations nationwide. He also has helped unemployed electronics workers in Ohio find jobs out of state. VMH joined the fight against the lagging economy by offering free seminars in PLM software and programming at various locations. Douglas Gudorf participated in trainings sponsored by VMH at Gosiger, Inc., a company headquartered in Dayton. and at the International Union of Electronic Workers Local 755 union hall. He and colleagues from VMH trained adult students in the latest Siemens PLM NX software, version 7.5. At least one student in the IUE course had landed a job over the Ohio state border in Fort Wayne, Indiana, before the course ended, and another had an interview scheduled. Speaking to a staff writer of the Dayton Daily News for a story about the IUE training, Douglas Gudorf said he had made it his goal to train and place 60 workers in jobs by the end of the year.
In nearly a dozen years as a Sales Engineer, Douglas Gudorf has won awards for best sales numbers or new customers at every job. Employed by Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Milford, Ohio, between 1999 and 2003, he received several awards for signing the most new accounts. For four years’ running, he qualified as EDS’s top sales representative in the U.S. In his next position, at UGS Corp. in Cincinnati, Ohio, Douglas Gudorf also earned recognition for as the top UGS software salesman in the country.
