About Don Holt
Don Holt, more commonly known by his nickname “Tucson”, is a veteran poker player, who hit the limelight in 1989, a year in which he finished first in three high-profile poker events. His great run began with the Amarillo Slim's Superbowl Of Poker No Limit Hold'em event, winning $60,750. He followed that up with a first place finish at the Limit 7 Card Stud Event in the same tournament, winning $45,000. He completed the trio by winning the World Of Series Poker Bracelet and winning $154,000.
Don Holt had another great run in 1991, when he finished with two consecutive second place finishes at the 22nd World Series of Poker No Limit Hold'em World Championship and Hall Of Fame Poker Classic Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo, winning $402,500 and $33,810 in total earnings respectively.
His other tournaments include the Hall of Fame Poker Classic in Las Vegas in December 1994, playing in Limit Omaha. Here he mopped up $18,975, and was ranked 2nd. Then there was the Queens Poker Classic V, again in Las Vegas in January 1995, where Don played in Pot Limit Omaha. His performance fetched him $12,460 Rank and 4th place. Don also took part in 29th World Series of Poker (WSOP), once more in Las Vegas in April 1998, playing Seven-Card Stud Split. Here he came second and took home $71,535.
