Donald Ray Bernard

International businessman Donald Ray Bernard commands a long history of participation in overseas endeavors. Currently a co-owner and policy-level Manager of a big-game adventure ranch in Argentina, Mr. Bernard is a former member of various Bar Associations. Donald Ray Bernard formerly served as Chairman Emeritus of the Houston Bar Association’s International Law Committee. In 1988, he attended as a delegate the first International Annual Legal Conference jointly sponsored by the United States and the Soviet Union.

 

He later accepted a position with a Catholic institution, the University of St. Thomas Houston, as a Professor of International Law. Donald Ray Bernard is now retired from practicing law and teaching. Donald Ray Bernard has involved himself in other activities in foreign countries over the years. While still in school, he attended a semester of study at the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala in Guatemala City.

 

Later, Mr. Bernard agreed to serve on the Board of Regents for a private Roman Catholic university in the Philippines, the Angeles University Foundation. Students at the autonomous, nonprofit school primarily study education, medicine, and nursing. In the private sector, Donald Ray Bernard formerly was co-owner of an adventure resort in Belize, Banana Bank Lodge, where tourists can ride horses through the Central American jungle to Mayan sites. Today, Donald Ray Bernard co-owns and manages Golden Stag Safaris, a lodge and hunting resort that operates Nehuen Mapu Big Game Hunting Ranch in the central Argentinean region of Patagonia.

 

Tourists come from across the world to hunt wild boar, goat, ram, sheep, water buffalo, red deer, puma, and other game. Donald Ray Bernard resides in Whitehall, Montana. He has long supported various charitable organizations, belongs to several professional pilot associations, and flies many types of aircraft with his commercial pilot’s license. Donald Ray Bernard has certification to fly more than 40 types of single- and multi-engine fixed-wing aircraft.
