About Dennis Giblin
Dennis Giblin - Professional Summary:
Dennis Giblin currently serves as Director of Business Development and as Engineering Manager for Able Engineering Services (AES). In this capacity, Dennis Giblin recruits new business in the Northeast for the company’s janitorial and facilities maintenance services. AES targets commercial office buildings, sports complexes, health care facilities, and college campuses. On a larger scale, the company also works with airports, theme parks, and national landmarks. In the first nine months of 2011, Dennis Giblin oversaw a 30 percent increase in business in his region.
Prior to joining AES, Dennis Giblin acted as President and Fund Administrator for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 68 in West Caldwell, New Jersey. In his five years with the union, from 2005 to 2010, Dennis Giblin supervised $1 billion in assets. His responsibilities included managing the pension fund, the annuity fund, the supplemental unemployment fund, and the education fund. Overall, Dennis Giblin led 5,800 members at more than 500 different job locations. He also managed two training facilities in New Jersey during his tenure with the union.
Dennis Giblin’s previous union experience includes serving as Assistant Business Manager for the IUOE Local 68 and as Business Representative for the union in Atlantic City. The position required Dennis Giblin to handle grievances, participate in contract negotiations, and resolve disputes between the casino industry and labor groups.
A graduate of Long Island University, Dennis Giblin earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2000. He also attended classes at the George Meany Center for Labor Studies in Silver Spring, Maryland, where he studied such topics as labor negotiations, strategic bargaining, public speaking, and organizing.
For his activity in the community, Dennis Giblin received the United Way Superstar Award for the years 2000 and 2001. The award recognized Dennis Giblin for achieving the largest percentage increase in Atlantic County's United Way Fund Drive. He has also drawn praise for his fund-raising efforts on behalf of the Special Olympics and the New Jersey Blood Center.
