After training under her father, Ms. McCreary endeavored to channel her expertise into a new project: a business of her own. In 1986, she and her husband established McCreary Homes, Inc., in Tucson, and the firm expanded rapidly. Since then, the custom development venture has constructed more than 100 upscale homes ranging in style and size.
