About Denis Coelho
Denis Coelho - Professional Summary: As a Mechanical Engineer with an Ergonomic Design and Production Management post-graduate education my research has focused in several areas, according to practical and funding restrictions. I have worked with car seat comfort (ergonomic design) and have also been interested in Management Systems in Small and Medium Enterprises, as well as providing a contribution to the advancement of ergonomic design methods. I have also participated and coordinated in Multimedia design work, with a development nature, focusing on the application of ergonomic guidelines at both the conceptual and application level.
Denis Coelho - Professional Experience: Teaching wise there are three major areas where my activity has focused: - Mechanical Engineering (Mechanics of Materials, Finite Element Analysis, general Computer Modelling and Vehicle Dynamics and Engineering Design Theory); - Production Engineering (Production and Operations Management, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Manufacturing Strategy, Human Factors and Ergonomics in production); - Product Design (Product Design Methods, Product Interface Ergonomics, Research Methods in Industrial Design, Human Centered Design). I have been responsible for the creation in the University of Beira interior of an entirely new programme of studies in Industrial Design (undergraduate studies leading to a Bachelor's degree) and Technological Industrial Design (Masters program). I have also designed and helped design other post-secondary programs of studies including Multimedia product development, E-commerce web applications and multimedia web applications.
