For more than a decade and a half, Debbie Yow has stewarded the program’s growth and implemented sweeping change in all aspects of its operations. Over Debbie Yow’s tenure, the Terrapins have won a record 18 national championships and earned a national ranking in the top 7% of all NCAA Division I institutions. Deeply experienced in organizational management and sports business, Debbie Yow has delivered exceptional achievements like her comprehensive Internet strategy integrated with management, marketing, and fundraising applications. Debbie Yow has also emphasized improving customer care in her time with Maryland Athletic, opened an 18,000-seat basketball venue, and expanded the program’s operating budget to more than $60 million. Honored as one of the 20 most influential people in intercollegiate athletics, Debbie Yow has received accolades from organizations like the United States Sports Academy, which bestowed on her both an honorary doctorate and the Carl Maddox Sports Management Award.
