Originally from the town of Castleisland in southwest Ireland, Dearbhla O’Connor attended St. Joseph's Presentation Secondary School from 1995 to 2000. A Catholic Education, Irish Schools Trust (CEIST) school, St. Joseph’s Secondary School provides students with a comprehensive, high-quality education while fostering spiritual and personal development, emphasizing the rights inherent to all human beings, promoting personal responsibility, and arming young people with the skills necessary to effect positive social change around the world. Upon completing her education at the Catholic secondary school in 2000, Dearbhla O’Connor enrolled at Trinity College Dublin, the oldest university in Ireland. Founded in 1592, Trinity College Dublin boasts a rich history and continually ranks among the world’s top universities. Dearbhla O’Connor set her sights on a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and began working diligently to earn her degree. As a student of pharmacy at Trinity College Dublin, Dearbhla O’Connor studied a wide variety of subjects, including biology and microbiology, biochemistry, physiology, and pharmacognosy. Dearbhla O’Connor also completed extensive coursework in pharmaceutical biotechnology, pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical calculations and data handling, and the practice of pharmacy. In 2003, Dearbhla O’Connor received the Seven Seas Bursary, a scholarship given to a student or students who achieve the highest grades in the annual exams. After concluding her fourth-year research project and submitting her dissertation in 2004, Dearbhla O’Connor graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and a Gold Medal from the Board of Trinity College for achieving high scores on her degree examinations. Dearbhla O’Connor accepted a pharmacist position in Ireland following the completion of her formal education at Trinity College, Dublin.
