About David Singer


David Singer born in Brooklyn, New York is a professional poker player and also a keen environmentalist. He studied law but used his expertise as an environmental lawyer for a non-profit organization where he concentrated mainly on water issues. Lawsuits regarding the cleaning up of Long Island Sound was his main concern. He currently lives in White Plains, New York.


David Singer used to play poker with his friends and family during his school days but has been playing poker for a living since 1996. Seven Card Stud is his favorite cash game which he used to play at a private club in New York and also at Foxwoods which helped him to improve his poker skills.


A casual glance at the career graph of David Singer shows his prowess at the game. The year 2007 had been a very successful one for David Singer for it was in this year that he won the first prize at the Inaugural Caesars Palace Classic Event 13 – Poker Pages Ranking No-Limit Hold’em Championship and walked away with $1,000,000. In spite of being away from most of the 2007 WSOP owing to his father’s surgery, he finished sixth at the 38th Annual WSOP Event 39 – WSOP H.O.R.S.E. World Championship and earned a huge amount of $337,440 in June 2007.


In February 2008 at the LA Poker Classic / WPT Event Season 6 Event 29 – WPT No-Limit Hold’em Championship, he walked away with $48,840 to finish 18th. He earned $11,094 at the Wynn Classic Event 17 – Poker Pages Ranking No-Limit Hold’em Championship in March though he only bagged the 18th position. From his 353rd rank at the 39th World Series of Poker 2008 Event 2 - WSOP No-Limit Hold’em, David Singer made a remarkable comeback in the same series in Event 3 – WSOP Pot-Limit Hold’em and walked away with the first prize, bracelet, and a huge sum of $214,131. He secured fifth place in Event 29 – WSOP No-Limit Hold’em and bagged an awesome $112,641. He finished 58th at Event 21 – WSOP No-Limit Hold’em and earned $10,650, in June 2008. Though he only finished 34th, he still made a good sum of $25,069 at Event 50 – WSOP Pot-Limit Omaha World Championship. David Singer secured seventh place at the Orleans Open Omaha Hi/Lo where he won $1,765, in July 2008.


Apart from poker, David Singer enjoys hiking, bird watching, and fishing. During summer, he used to work for commercial boats and go fishing, and this experience came in handy for him to set records in fishing. He loves wearing silver rings and owns a collection of them. David Singer usually keeps a low profile, away from any kind of fanfare.
