About David Salomon
David Salomon - Professional Summary: After David Salomon earned his MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1982, he entered the world of risk arbitrage at Goldman Sachs, reporting directly to Robert Rubin. Heading the department’s equity strategy group, David Salomon introduced the first personal computers to the company. With this initiation came some of the pioneering algorithmic techniques for developing investment strategies.
David Salomon traded in the energy markets for 15 years and was instrumental in establishing oil trading at J. Aron & Company. He later participated in the introduction of energy derivatives trading at American International Group, Inc., (AIG) and Bankers Trust. In the early 2000s, Salomon co-founded a number of companies involved with algorithmic trading, including EWT LLC and Madison Tyler Holdings LLC, two of the most successful financial firms in the industry.
A believer in educational excellence, Salomon contributes to Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California. Salomon is also dedicated to the idea of a peaceful solution to the conflict in the Middle East. He participated in the 2007 conference Children of Abraham: Trialogue of Civilizations, hosted by the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University.
